Monetary Grant Program
The Connecticut Department of Public Utility Control has been authorized to offer monetary grants and other financial incentives to assist commercial and industrial customers with the cost of installing customer-owned electric generating equipment, commonly referred to as Distributed Generation or 'DG'.
This program includes:
Capital grants of up to $500/kW;
Low interest loans;
Reduced cost for natural gas used to power the equipment; and,
Exemption from certain electric costs.

Combined Heat and Power Generation
DG units, particularly combined heat and power generating equipment, may be a cost-effective way to control you energy costs. These units (which qualify for incentives under Connecticut's DG Capital Grant Program) provide electricity and heat, helping customers to meet their total energy needs while serving as a backup during power outages.
