Demand Response Programs

Load Response Programs

Customers can receive payments to stand ready to curtail or interrupt electric load. By agreeing to reduce your demand for electricity you will help maintain system reliability and take advantage of available monetary incentive programs. Representatives of The Connecticut Light and Power Company or The United Illuminating Company can answer questions about these programs and help you to enroll in them.

Control Your Demand For Electricity

The cost for electricity for most commercial and industrial (C&I) customers includes a demand charge. This charge is based on the amount of electricity that a customer uses during a single time period (typically a 15 or 30 minute period) and fixes that cost for a billing period or for the next eleven months. Controlling your demand can reduce your cost. Contact CL&P or UI to learn about the programs, incentives and strategies that are available to help control your demand for electricity.
