Summer Saver Rewards Program

All customers of The Connecticut Light and Power Company and The United Illuminating Company are eligible to receive a credit of 10%, 15% or 20% on the generation portion of their electric bill by reducing the amount of electricity used this summer.

Here's how the program works:

CL&P and UI will compare the electric consumption at your home or business from July 1, 2007 through September 30, 2007, to the electric consumption for the same period in 2006.

  • If you reduce your 2007 consumption by 10%, you will receive a 10% credit on the generation portion of your electric bill for the 2007 summer period;

  • If you reduce your 2007 consumption by 15%, you will receive a 15% credit on the generation portion of your electric bill for the 2007 summer period;

  • If you reduce your 2007 consumption by 20% or more, you will receive a 20% credit on the generation portion of your electric bill for the 2007 summer period.

This conservation incentive program is approved by the DPUC and was authorized under Section 119 of Public Act 07-242, An Act Concerning Electricity and Energy Efficiency.

There is no cost or risk associated with participation.

Customers can call toll‑free, 1‑877‑WISE‑USE (1-877-947-3873) to enroll and to receive information about the program and the steps to take to succeed in reducing their electric consumption.

Notes:

Consumption will be adjusted for weather to provide an accurate comparison of the amount of energy consumed by each customer in each summer period.

Credits will be applied during the November billing period.

Customers must have been active for the two summer periods being used for the comparison and must have had continuous service at the same address (premises) for the entire length of both periods.

A customer must achieve at least 10% to qualify (e.g., 9.5% would not qualify for a credit).  Also, you must achieve the next threshold of savings to earn the next level of incentive credit (i.e., if you reduce consumption by 14%, you receive a 10% credit).
